Motorcyclist dies after collision with car on Kara Kara Public road

Police are investigating a fatal accident that claimed the life a 27-year-old motorcyclist on the Kara Kara Public road yesterday morning.

Dead is Sheldon Solomon, of Lot 36 Old Kara Kara, Mackenzie, Linden.

Involved in the accident was the motorcycle, CL 9293, ridden by Solomon and a motorcar, PZZ 8967, driven by Judah Lorrimer, 24, of Lot 184 Carter Street, Kara Kara.

Enquiries revealed that the motorcycle was speeding east along the Kara Kara Public Road while the motorcar was proceeding south on Thomas Street (an access road) and turned onto the main road into the path of the motorcycle causing a collision.

As a result of the collision, the rider of the motorcycle fell onto the road surface with serious injuries. The police said he was picked up in a conscious condition and taken to the Linden Hospital Complex where he was treated and transferred to the George-town Public Hospital for further treatment, but succumbed to his injuries on the way to Georgetown. 

The driver of the motorcar is in custody and he submitted to a breathalyzer test but no alcohol was found in his system.
