International Building Expo 2023 launched

The International Building Expo 2023 was officially launched on Friday evening at the Amazonia Mall in Providence, East Bank Demerara.

The Central Housing and Planning Authority said in a release that the event saw the presence of Prime Minister Mark Phillips, Minister of Housing and Water, Collin Croal; Minister within the Ministry of Housing and Water, Susan Rodrigues, as well as, several Cabinet Members, representatives from the Private Sector bodies and other officials.

Under the theme “Building For All: One Guyana, Many Opportunities,” this year’s International Building Expo will take place from August 24-27, 2023 at the National Stadium.

The expo aims to provide a platform for networking, creating opportunities, and fostering collaboration among local and foreign investors, the release said.

According to the Department of Public Information (DPI), the Prime Minister highlighted the building revolution taking place in Guyana, evident in the construction of hotels, homes, warehouses, commercial buildings, industrial facilities, townhouses and other infrastructure projects.

He also noted that this building revolution is showcasing the artistry and skills of the Guyanese workforce. Regardless of the design requirements, Guyanese buildings are rising to the challenge with remarkable expertise and craftsmanship.

“The building revolution signifies an improved quality of life for the people of Guyana. Just look at the construction of the boulevard in La Penitence, the transformation of many other open spaces such as the old train line between Parade Street and Vlissengen Road, the improvements to the Georgetown Seawall and in La Jalousie in West Demerara,” the Prime Minister said, according to DPI.
