Anthony Stoby, a Moruca, North West District man, was arrested last Friday by ranks from the Regional Police Division #1 for the possession of 22.2 grammes of marijuana.

According to the police, the ranks were on mobile patrol duty at Kumaka waterfront, North West District, when they observed the suspect behaving disorderly. Further, the waist on the right-side of his pants was bulky. The ranks requested a search, during which they found a knife with a black handle in his waist. A further search revealed a transparent plastic bag containing 19 zip plastic bags with leaves, seeds, and stems suspected to be cannabis sativa in his left-side pocket.

Stoby was cautioned, arrested and escorted, along with the suspected cannabis sativa, to the Acquero Police station, where upon arrival, the narcotic was weighed in his presence, and amounted to 22.2 grammes, the police said. 

Stoby remains in custody awaiting charges.
