Herstelling Raiders defeated Soesdyke Falcons 2-1 when the East Bank Football Association Senior Men’s League continued on Sunday at the Timehri Red ground.
Herstelling seized the initial lead as Albert Adams opened the scoring, blasting his powerful effort into the back of the net in the 24th minute.
However, Soesdyke Falcons equalized in the form of Tyrone Khan who slammed his effort past the custodian from inside the penalty area in the 30th minute.
The score remained unchanged heading into the halftime interval. Nevertheless, Adrian Price secured the vital result for Herstelling as he made his presence felt with an 83rd strike into the far corner.
Meanwhile, Timehri Panthers defeated Friendship All-Stars via walkover after the latter objected to playing with the assigned referees and refused to take the playing area.
The event continues on Saturday with another doubleheader.
