Digicel held its $20 million “Deal” or “No Deal” summer launch at the Theatre Guild in Kingston, Georgetown, yesterday afternoon.

The promotion allows all prepaid customer to top up starting from today just for the summer with one thousand dollars or more until they collect all four letters of the word, “deal”.

When customers have all four letters of the word “Deal”, they will get a call from Digicel’s 1-800 number notifying them that they have won.

At yesterday’s launch, five lucky contestants comprising Digicel influencers and members of the media participated at the launch.

Five members of the media had their names pulled from a bag. They were given a chance to choose one suitcase each from a team of ten models. Each suitcase contained cash with the highest amount being $200,000, allowing the contestant to win cash regardless of which suitcase was chosen. Before unveiling the contents of the suitcase, the banker would make a cash offer for the unknown cash inside. The contestant could either accept the deal by saying “Deal” or reject it by stating “No deal”.

Needless to say, the atmosphere at this stage of the game was filled with suspense and anticipation as contestants fervently prayed that they were making the right choice.

The winners were: Eric Collymore of NCN News – $50,000; Dwayne Ross of Big Smith News – $200,000; Christal Yong of Kaieteur News – $90,000; Stacy Rahaman of Visit Guyana – $100,000; and Paul Vanvield of the Evening News – $100,000.

Marketing Manager for Digicel Business Solutions, Abeena Gomes, said that the Deal or No Deal promotion this summer will give customers a chance to win $20 million in grabs and cash.

Meanwhile, Digicel’s Communications Manager, Vidya Sanichara, explained that to qualify to win, prepaid customers will have to top up with $1,000 or more until they spell the four letters.

She added that prepaid customers will be notified by a call from the 1-800 Number once all letters of “Deal” are spelt out. When asked the maximum amount a customer can win, she informed that a prepaid customer can win up to $2 million.
