Thirty-five-year-old Michael Atwell, of Lot 42 Second Avenue, Diamond Housing Scheme, East Bank Demerara, appeared yesterday at the Georgetown Magistrate’s Court before Magistrate Marissa Mittelholzer- Singh where he was charged with using abusive language.
It is alleged that on July 12, at Lombard Street, Georgetown, the defendant used abusive language towards Sunita Balgobin.
The police prosecutor had no objection to bail but requested that the defendant be on bail until the termination of the matter.
Following his guilty plea, Atwell was placed on $5,000 bail.
The matter was adjourned to July 28.
