Alexandra Popp followed up her brace in Germany’s 6-0 romp over Morocco by converting a penalty in the 89th minute. Merle Frohms made two saves for the Germans (1-1-0), who host winless South Korea (0-2-0) on Thursday in Brisbane, Australia.

Ibtissam Jraidi scored in the sixth minute to lift Morocco to it’s first-ever victory at the Women’s World Cup in a match at Adelaide, Australia. Jraidi headed home Hanane Ait El Haj’s cross to fuel Morocco, which fended off a 6-3 disadvantage in corner kicks.
“We are just so pleased our efforts have paid off,” Jraidi told reporters, per Reuters. “This victory is for Morocco and Arabs. It’s the fruit of our hard work.”

New Zealand became the first Women’s World Cup hosts to exit in the group stage following its scoreless draw in a Group A clash at Dunedin, New Zealand.
Jacqui Hand and Olivia Chance each hit the post for New Zealand (1-1-1), which is tied with Norway (1-1-1) with four points but fell out of the competition in goal differential.
Gaelle Thalmann finished with three saves for Switzerland (1-0-2), which won Group A and awaits the second-place representative from Group C on Saturday in Auckland, New Zealand.

Sophie Roman Haug recorded a hat trick to help Norway (1-1-1) advanced out of Group A and into the knockout stage with a rout of the Philippines at Auckland, New Zealand.
Caroline Graham Hansen scored in the 31st minute and Guro Reiten converted a penalty in the 53rd for the Norwegians, who also benefited from an own goal to notch their first win of the tournament.
Norway will play the first-place representative from Group C on Saturday in Wellington, New Zealand.
