Dear Editor,
Editor, the raping of a country’s wealth is usually facilitated by corrupt officials. Despite what is being portrayed, Guyana over the years, has been a victim of such abuses, especially under the governance of the PPP/C. Given that Guyana has way more natural resources than many other countries, it’s extremely painful to see the financial-economic strain the average citizen is living in. If anyone has any doubts, one just has to watch how the people swarm a location when there’s an announcement of any money sharing out. As I said, before oil, Guyana’s other natural resources were supposedly to have this country financially better off than it is presently. No doubt citizens will hopelessly wait for an announcement of handout to storm.
Finally, Editor, it’s not surprising the VP is condemning the Stabroek News for its Editorial regarding developments in Guyana. Without a doubt, this is an individual, if he hadn’t chosen politics as a career, could have made it as a televangelist. He simply knows how to intimidate and say the words that the gullible want to hear. One cannot blame him for his success, had there been anyone bold enough to challenge him and expose the deceitfulness he displays towards the Guyanese people. It’s not surprising he continuously attacks the two independent dailies that keeps questioning his actions. Along with the two dailies, there are signs to suggest that those opposing his actions and the party, are scared to publicly chastise his actions. Meanwhile, he has free rein to groom the members, while the people suffer, polishing it off with promises as the country is being raped of her wealth.
