Police Commissioner (ag), Clifton Hicken, who has reached the age of retirement has had his tenure at the top post of the Guyana Police Force (GPF) extended by President Irfaan Ali.
A GPF release said that the acting commissioner was officially communicated to by Ali to remain at the helm of the force to a date yet to be determined.
“I’ve already issued a letter extending the services of the Commissioner of Police,” a statement from Ali said. Hicken had reached the retirement age of fifty-five years on July 22, 2023.
