Motorcyclist, 17, dies after collision on Nabaclis Public Road

The police are investigating an accident that occurred on Tuesday night on the Nabaclis Public Road, East Coast of Demerara (ECD) which claimed the life of a 17-year-old motorcyclist. Dead is Akeem Gouveia of Joyce Street, Victoria, ECD.

Police investigations have so far revealed that Gouveia was riding motorcycle, CM 1006 while Randy Stoby, a 37-year-old operator of Sancho Street, Golden Gove, was the driver of motor car,  PRR 6865.

Enquiries further disclosed that Gouveia was allegedly speeding west along the Public Road when the driver of the car, who was proceeding in the opposite direction, turned into the motorcyclist’s path. The police report stated that Gouveia sustained injuries about his body.

He was picked up by medical personnel in an unconscious state and was rushed to Georgetown Public Hospital in an ambulance where he was admitted with a fractured right foot and head injuries. The relatives of Gouveia confirmed that he succumbed to the injuries on Wednesday.
