ZARA Computer Centre commissioned at Blairmont

A brand new, fully furnished ZARA Computer Centre was yesterday commissioned in Region Five at Blairmont, West Bank Berbice.

A release from the Guyana Police Force said that the state-of-the-art computer lab is equipped with thirty complete computer systems and will offer Information Technology and other training programmes for residents of the community, free of cost.

President of the Jay and Sylvia Sobhraj Foundation, Dr Jay Sobhraj, his wife Sylvia Sobhraj and the Foundation’s IT Consultant Naresh Singh along with Regional Commander Superintendent Lonsdale Withrite and Coordinator of the Guyana Police Force Academy – ZARA Computer Centres, Assistant Superintendent Gladwin Hanover were in attendance.

Since establishing the first ZARA Centre in 2012, the release said that the partnership between the Guyana Police Force and the Jay and Sylvia Sobhraj Foundation has been able to provide free ICT training to over 30,000 Guyanese, country-wide.
