A 46-year-old labourer of Good Hope, was found with 200 grams of marijuana yesterday at a hotel in Parika during an intelligence-led operation by police ranks.
Ranks acting on information received, went to the Inner Retreat Hotel at Parika, East Bank Demerara at about 13:15 hours where a man was seen acting in a suspicious manner with a black haversack in his hand.
Police conducted a search on his person and the haversack, in which there were two black plastic bags, one containing a quantity of leaves, seeds and stems suspected to be cannabis. Additionally, several ziploc bags containing leaves, seeds and stem were also found in the bag.
The man was told of the offence committed, cautioned, arrested and escorted to the Parika Police Station.
