Fly Allways set to begin Guyana to Canada flights on Sept 12

Suriname-based airline, Fly Allways is set to launch its flights between Guyana and Canada on September 12.

A release yesterday from the airline said that Fly Allways will launch  on Tuesday, September 12, and will be operating two days per week on Sundays and Tuesdays out of Canada and two times per week out of Guyana on Mondays and Wednesdays. The flights will be direct flights with a 45-minute fuel stop in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic. It also informed that tickets are now available for booking.

The flights on the Toronto route will be using Airbus A320 aircraft with a seating capacity of 180, in Economy setting and will offer “on board catering” which Fly Allways feels is an important part of the flight experience. Additionally, the airline provides free 8kg (17lbs) hand luggage and 23 kg (50lbs) check-in baggage included within the ticket price.

According to the release from the airline, the new service was unveiled at a special event for local travel agents at the Guyana Marriott Hotel on Wednesday, August 15. It was attended by some 25 local representatives and travel agents and the airline’s executives and representatives.

In attendance was Guyana Country Manager, Patricia Lewis, who welcomed the agents and gave introductory remarks, and Fly Allways Director of Commerce, Natascha Abdulhak, who, along with her team came from Suriname for the event and shared a presentation of the new route. Abdulhak expressed the airline’s enthusiasm for expanding its horizons and fostering stronger connections between Georgetown and Canada.

Also included were interactive sessions where travel agents had the opportunity to engage directly with Fly Allways team, gaining deeper insights into the flight schedules, services, and offerings.

On August 23, Stabroek News reported that Canada Jetlines, would soon be flying to Guyana from Toronto following a partnership agreement Fly Allways.

“Fly Allways had applied for permission to fly the Guyana [to] Toronto [route]. That was granted and they had applied to use an airline out of Canada. So Canada Jetlines will be operating on behalf of Fly Allways,” Minister of Public Works Juan Edghill told Stabroek News when contacted.

Fly Allways is based in Suriname with its new sales office on Main Street, Georgetown. The airline offers charter and scheduled flights and cargo services out of Guyana within the Caribbean, Central America and South America.

Canada Jetlines  was founded in 2010 but launched its inaugural revenue flight only  on September 22, 2022
