CHPA expanding awareness on single window system

Efforts to raise awareness and build capacity for the electronic Single Window Planning and Development System are continuing, according to a release yesterday from the Central Housing and Planning Authority (CHPA).

Most recently, CHPA’s Planning and Settlement Development Department conducted informative sessions with local authorities in Regions Two, Five, Six, and Ten. The sessions were led by the Chief Development Planner,  Germene Stewart and Consultant, Fareed Amin.

The electronic planning system is poised to revolutionize the planning and permitting process by providing a single entry point for CHPA and its partner agencies; and facilitating easy access for both local and international investors to submit applications online from anywhere in the world, the release said. Its core principles include transparency, predictability, efficiency, electronic accessibility, scalability, and interoperability.

Earlier in August, similar sessions were held with representatives from Regions Three and Four following the passage of the legislation in Parliament. The CHPA plans to extend these sessions to Regions Seven and Nine.
