A 33-year-old fisherman, Anthony Budram of Lot 21 Mosquito Hall, Mahaica, East Coast Demerara was charged yesterday with setting fire last Saturday to Lot 79 Mosquito Hall, Mahaica, the abode of a social media personality.
He is accused of maliciously setting fire to the two-storey wooden home of TikTok personality, 49-year-old Kubram Ramlall called ‘Rakah’, as well as his mother, Goomattie aka Shirley Pitamber’s one-storey wooden home which was situated next door.
The accused appeared at the Sparendam Magist-rate’s Court before Magistrate Alisha George, where the charge was read to him. He was not required to plead to the charge and was remanded to prison until October 10th, 2023.
