S Jagmohan Construction agrees to compensate GPL for damage

S Jagmohan Construction has agreed to compensate the Guyana Power and Light (GPL) for damage caused when one of its excavators accidentally came into contact with a GPL distribution line at Conversation Tree.

In an advertisement in Friday’s edition of Stabroek News, GPL said that Suresh Jagmohan of S Jagmohan Construction and General Supplies met with it to discuss compensation for the incident which resulted in network damage and service disruption.

The disruption occurred on September 6. The accident caused blown spur fuses on a Sophia feeder and customers in Bel Air Gardens and Bel Air Springs were without power for around six hours.

The meeting concluded with an amicable settlement for damage, the release said. There was no disclosure on the quantum.
