Saudi Foreign Minister on visit

President Irfaan Ali and senior members of his Government held bilateral discussions yesterday with Saudi Arabia’s Minister of State for Foreign Affairs and Climate Envoy, Adel Ahmed al-Jubeir and his team at State House.

The two countries are working on strengthening relations, a release from the Office of the President said.

During the discussions, Ali shared his vision for Guyana and engaged in dialogue on investment opportunities in the country, infrastructural development, renewable energy, agriculture, the oil and gas sector and economic cooperation.

Vice President, Bharrat Jagdeo and the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Hugh Todd were also a part of the meeting.

Director General of the Office of the Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Member of the Council of Ministers and Envoy for Climate Affairs, Ambassador Khalid Al-Anqari and Advisor in the Office of the Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Member of the Council of Ministers and Envoy for Climate Affairs, Badr AlMuaiqel were a part of the Saudi Arabian delegation.

al-Jubeir also visited Guyana in February last year.
