GT Kanaimas, Region #10, Siparuta among the winners in Heritage Games Football

GT Kanaimas, Region #10, and Siparuta recorded contrasting wins in the female and male divisions, respectively, when the Amerindian Heritage Games Football Championship continued last evening at the Everest Cricket Club ground, Carifesta Avenue.

In the female segment, GT Kanaimas crushed Paruima 3-0. The trio of Glendy Lewis, Jalade Trim, and Jammacia Hunte scored in the 35th, 36th, and 60th minutes, respectively.

Meanwhile, Region #10 defeated Kurukabaru 2-1. Shenessa Cornelius registered a double in the seventh and 11th minutes. On target for the loser in the 16th minute was Dolyana Francisco.

In the men’s division, Region #10 edged GT Kanaimas 2-1. Devon Torrington and Tyric McAllister scored in the 25th and 29th minutes, respectively. On target in the loss was Sunil Logan in the 43rd minute.

Also, Siparuta defeated St. Cuthbert’s Mission 2-0. On Wednesday evening at the same venue, Paruima defeated Moraikobai 3-0 in the men’s section. The trio of Riddick Williams, Reiko King, and Reco Francis scored in the 25th, 50th, and 52nd minutes, respectively.

Continuing in the same section, Waiakabra thrashed Santa Aratak 9-0.

In the women’s pool, Siparuta mauled St. Cuthbert’s Mission 7-0. Allison Haynes crafted a hat-trick in the 22nd, 36th, and 45th minutes, while Tanya Devair recorded a three-goal haul in the 17th, 53rd, and 55th minutes. Adding to the score in the 58th minute was Tiandi Smith.
