Man carted off guns, ammo following knifepoint robbery on David St

Thirty-nine-year-old Kelvin Mickle of Lot 429 West Ruimveldt Housing Scheme, appeared before Magistrate Rhondel Weever at the Georgetown Magistrate’s Court yesterday charged with carting off $6m in firearms and cash at knifepoint.

It is alleged that on September 15, 2023, while on David Street in Kitty, Mickle, armed with a knife, robbed George Franklin of firearms, including two 12-gauge shotguns valued at 1.6 million dollars, two black .223 rifles valued at 2.4 million dollars, and one black 9mm pistol valued at $240,000 dollars.

Additionally, he allegedly took one hundred and fifty-four 12-gauge cartridges valued at 50,000, 294 .223 ammunition valued at $100,000,147 9mm rounds of ammunition valued at $45,000, and 1.6 million dollars in cash, totaling just over $6m, property of Orlando Rogers. It is further alleged that he stole one black pistol valued at 240,000 dollars, property of Clinton Morris.

Mickle was remanded to prison until October 30, 2023.
