Berbice brushed aside Georgetown by a 4-1 score when the 2023 edition of the Thunderbolt Flour Power Under-17 Academy Football Championship continued yesterday at the National Training Center in Providence. A second-half blitz from the Berbicians settled the outcome following a 1-1 score at the end of the first period. Shem James initially gave Georgetown the lead in the 13th minute, only for Berbice to immediately respond through Kymani Spelling one minute later.
However, the second half was dominated by Berbice as Jaden Thom fashioned a double. Thom opened his account in the 51st minute to hand Berbice the 2-1 lead before Quincy Fraser made it 3-1 five minutes later. The outcome was then sealed, as Thom sealed his brace in the 74th minute.
