Beacons receive prizes for winning Georgetown League title

Following the conclusion of their senior men’s league, the Georgetown Football Association (GFA) presented the top four finishers with their respective prizes at the boardroom of Insurance Brokers Guyana Limited, Carmichael Street.

League champion Beacons finished in the event unbeaten by 22 points and pocketed $300,000 as well as the championship trophy.

On the other hand, runner-up Pele received $250,000 for his exploits. Meanwhile, third-place finisher Riddim Squad [16 points] walked away with $100,000, while Vengy rounded out the top four with 14 points and collected $50,000.

GFA President Otis James said that the tournament was a success and that the association is considering the possibility of staging a knockout event.

3rd: Riddim Squad: 16 points

4th: Vengy: 14 points

5th: Eastveldt: 10 points

6th: GFC: 10 points (inferior goal differential)

7th: Order and Discipline: 6 points

8th: Blackpearl: 4 points
