Pugilist Keevin Allicock yesterday suffered a unanimous points defeat in his quarterfinal bout when fistic action at this year’s Pan American Games continued yesterday in Santiago, Chile.

Fighting out of the blue corner, the orthodox fighter dropped a 0-5 decision against Jahmal Harvey of the United States of America in their 57kg matchup.

The five judges scorecards read, 29-28 and 30-27×4 all in favor of the 20-year old American southpaw, a gold medalist at the 2021 AIBA World Championships.

Allicock’s loss, ended any chance of a local boxer earning a medal at this year’s edition of the multi-sport Games.

Joel Williamson (63.5kg), Alesha Jackman (66kg), Emmanuel Pompey (92kg) and Desmond Amsterdam (80kg) all lost their respective opening bouts at the event which got underway on Thursday.

The top two boxers in each division will qualify for the Olympic Games next year in Paris, France.

The local boxers will  now have to excel at other qualifiers in order to punch their tickets to the French capital.
