Ulrick Edwards appeared on Friday before Magistrate Leron Daly at the Georgetown Magistrate’s Court after he was charged with break and enter and larceny.

It is alleged that between August 18 and 19, Edwards broke into Shabhana and Son Liquor Mart and General Store located at Lot 6 James Street, Albouystown, Georgetown, and stole over $4 million in cash, $1 million worth of phone cards, two cellular phones valued at $40,000, and one Sony Xbox valued at $60,000, all belonging to Bibi Shabhana Mohamed. It is also alleged that he stole $355,000, belonging to Jessica Singh, and $30,000 worth of property belonging to Merle Khan.

Edwards pleaded not guilty to all the charges. The prosecution objected to bail based on the seriousness of the offence and the preponderance of evidence. As such bail was refused, and he was remanded to prison. His next court appearance will be on November 29.

The other accused in this case, Akeem Marshall, appeared before Magistrate Rhondel Weever on October 6, and was charged with the same offence. He also pleaded not guilty and was remanded to prison. His next court appearance will be on November 10.
