Non Pareil man found dead in home

The decomposed body of a 55-year-old man was discovered yesterday at his Section ‘B’ Non Pareil, East Coast Demerara home, after he was last seen alive in June.

The man was identified as 55-year-old Suresh Seaukumar called Charles of Lot 501 Section ‘B’ Non-Pareil, East Coast Demerara.

Police say the discovery stemmed from a report made by Suresh’s daughter Noorena Seukumar, a 35-year-old woman of Herstelling, East Bank Demerara. Noorena told police that she went to her father’s home at Non-Pareil on Sunday afternoon to check on him but the house was locked and secured and as a result she left.

Noorena went to the Vigilance Police Station on Monday at around 11:45 am and reported that she hadn’t seen or heard from her father for the past seven months since they weren’t on good terms.

About ten minutes later, police ranks proceeded to Suresh’s Non-Pareil home. On arrival, the police entered the house, where they discovered the decomposed body in one of the bedrooms. Due to the decomposed state of the body, it was difficult to examine. The body was later escorted to the Memorial Gardens Funeral Home.

Further investigations revealed that the deceased was last seen in his verandah during the month of June 2023.

Investigations continue.
