Potaro downed defending champion Rivers View by a 3-2 score when the Bartica Football Association Senior Men’s League continued on Wednesday evening at the Community Centre ground.
Andrew Simmons gave Rivers View the initial lead with a 10th-minute conversion. However, two goals in the space of 17 minutes propelled Potaro into the halftime lead. Arlington Williams found the back of the net in the 17th minute to level proceedings, before Daniel Gardener etched his name on the scorer’s sheet in the 34th minute to push the score to 2-1. Rivers View was able to restore parity to proceedings, with Simmons completing his double in the 51st minute. Nevertheless, Gardener made his presence felt once more, sealing his brace with a 55th-minute strike to clinch the victory.
