A father of two is now dead after he was involv-ed in an accident along the Tain Public Road on Thursday morning.

Dead is Rondel Rahaman, 35, a hire car driver, of Lot 153 Bloomfield, Corentyne.

According to his wife, Maureen Rahaman, the man was on a motorcycle heading to pick up the car he works  on the road with, when the accident happened just around 8 am.

She explained, that the man would normally park the car in Hampshire Village, Corentyne, in the afternoons after work. As such, on Thursday he was heading to the Hampshire location when it is alleged that a car made a sudden turn on the Tain Public Road resulting in Rahaman slamming into the side of the vehicle.

As a result of the collision, Rahaman fell on the road.  He reportedly sustained a major head injury and a broken left foot.

The woman noted that based on what was told to her by persons who witnessed the accident, the car that her husband crashed into did not have its trafficator on to indicate that he was turning at the time.

Further, she said, that after her husband collided with the car he reportedly remained on the public road for some time until another hire car driver picked him up and rushed him to the Port Mourant Hospital.

He was subsequently transferred to the New Amsterdam Hospital where the woman said doctors informed them that he was brain dead. He eventually succumbed just around midday on Thursday.

The devastated woman explained that her husband was the provider for the family adding that he was a dedicated churchgoer. She stressed that in addition to driving a hire car he would also do other jobs to ensure that their family was always financially secure.
