LA Ballers, Gunners, Hardknocks register wins in New Era Futsal

Young Gunners, LA Ballers, and Hardknocks were among the winners when the ExxonMobil/New Entertainment Futsal Championship commenced on Friday evening at the Retrieve Hard-court in Linden.

The Young Gunners riddled Genasyde 21-7. Brandon Solomon recorded six conversions, while Demoll Werner and Omarion Ramsay tallied five and a helmet trick, respectively. Adding a hat-trick was Rodensio Tudor, while Kamar McLaren bagged a brace. Netting one goal was Ryan Arthur. For the loser, Tyrese Simon recorded a hat-trick, while Seon Murray and Shemar Greene registered respective doubles.

Similarly, the LA Ballers thrashed One Side 14-1. Andre Mayers tallied a helmet trick, while Tyric McAllister contributed a hat trick. Supporting the respective doubles were Amanikie Mayers and Marcus Tudor, while Adrian Aaron, Mortimer Giddings, and Omar Williams netted one goal apiece. On target for the loser was Alastair Willock.

Meanwhile, Hardknocks overcame Coomacka 9-7. Omar Brewley led the way with five conversions, while John Waldron chipped in with two conversions. Adding one goal apiece were Shevane Seaforth and Marley Major. On the other side, Jamal White and Deandre Wilson recorded a hat-trick and double, respectively, while Marcus Johnson and Sonell Griffith netted one goal each.

The event resumes today at the same venue. The other playing dates are November 15th, 17th, 18th, 22nd, and 24th, with the final chalked up for November 25th.

The winner of the event will pocket $1,000,000 and the championship trophy, while the runner-up will receive $500,000 and the corresponding accolade. Meanwhile, the third- and fourth-place finishers will walk away with $200,000 and $100,000 apiece and the respective trophy.
