Tigers, GDF storm to victories in KFC League Cup

Western Tigers and the Guyana Defence Force (GDF) recorded lopsided wins when the KFC Elite League Cup continued on Friday evening at the Eve Leary Ground, Kingston.

The Western Tigers mauled Anns’ Grove 6-1. Randolph Wagner crafted a second-half hat-trick in the 57th, 60th, and 64th minutes, whilst Raushan Ritch, Jermaine Beckles, and Daniel Wilson contributed goals in the second, 88th, and 90th+2 minutes, respectively. On target for the loser in the 21st minute was Jaden Van Groningen.

Meanwhile, GDF outflanked Buxton United 7-1. A second-half hat trick from Delroy Fraser led the army unit’s charge after the first period failed to separate the teams at 1-1.

Following an equaliser from teammate Chris Macey in the 24th minute, after Kingston had given Buxton United the initial advantage in the 13th minute, Fraser recorded three goals in the space of 14 minutes.

Fraser found the back of the net in the 71st, 82nd, and 85th minutes, while Olvis Mitchell, Stephon McDonald, and Kelsey Benjamin scored in the 56th, 62nd, and 75th minutes, respectively.
