21 members of the Joint Services complete weapon and ammunition management training course

Twenty-one members of Guyana’s Joint Service recently completed a 5-day weapon and ammunition management training at the Officers Training Centre, Georgetown. The participants’ included fifteen ranks from the Guyana Police Force [GPF] and six from the Guyana Defence Force [GDF]. A press release from the GPF stated that the course was sponsored by the British Foreign and Commonwealth office, CARICOM IMPACS and Mines Advisory Groups. The programme was funded by the UK Government and delivered by MAG CARICOM from 6th-10th November 2023.

The fifteen successful ranks from the GPF who completed the training and received certificates were: Sergeants – O’Neil James, Stayman Sharper, Anthonio Wallace; Corporals – Rohan Baksh, Permanand Kissoon, Eon Rodrigues; Women Constables – Letecia Edwards, Akeila Durant; Constables – Kevin Edwards, Gedol Byass, Ron Harvey, Kevin Watson, Areyon Grannum, Marvin Tinnis and Clifton Graham. Successful ranks from the GDF include: Sergeant Maxwell Hales, Corporals – Carl Ronald Tudor, Richard Blackett, Lance Corporals – Shaquan Mc Bean, Neil Williams and Anthony Gibson. Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Home Affairs, Andre Ally, Deputy Commissioner “Operations” Ravindradat Budhram, UK High Commissioner Jane Miller, Technical Expert of MAG Christopher Snaith, and Program Officer of MAG Nikita Mohammed were among the officials who were present at the training’s concluding ceremony.
