Black Friday is synonymous the world over with great deals, and low prices, and endless discounts for shoppers and at Courts Guyana it was no different with expectant patrons all across the country preparing for the stores to open at 12 am yesterday to get the best deals on appliances, home décor, furniture, electronics and much more.

The sale which lasted from 12 am Friday to 12 am Saturday gave shoppers the opportunity to take advantage of the endless deals and bargains.

Stabroek News visited the Courts main branch located on Main Street, Georgetown, and observed patrons wasting no time in grabbing up the deals and discounts on items. Every inch of the store was packed with persons trying to get the best deals available, with items ranging from irons to both small and large home appliances. There were buy-one-get-one-free deals as well as massive discounts on fridges, gas stoves, and microwaves.

Shoppers wasted no time and could be seen running to every corner of the store as fast as they could to grab as much as they could. This newspaper managed to interrupt a few shoppers who were only too happy to share the deals they snared.

Marcelle Singh said, “We came from when the stores opened [and] so far we have already purchased a bed and my husband and I are looking at a new stove for the Christmas.”

Marcelle’s husband Suresh Singh added, “She wants a new stove so you know wifey gets what wifey wants.”

Jenelle Murray shared, “My mom and I are here and we’re just looking around I saw they have irons on buy-one-get-one free, I got my mom one and I will take the other [and] that’s a bit of a steal if you ask me.”

And Michael (only name given) seemed a bit disappointed. “I am big gym guy so I came for the deals on work-out machinery but I honestly don’t feel like the discounted price is much of a steal.”
