Berris Jacobs, a 22-year-old construction worker of Section ‘C’ Nabaclis, ECD, was arrested on 2023-11-22 by a rank from the Enmore Police Station and charged yesterday with the theft of cattle.
The police in a statement said that Jacobs is accused of committing the act on Doodnauth Haricharan, a 43-year-old cattle farmer of Enmore Pasture, East Coast Demerara (ECD).
Jacobs appeared yesterday at the Vigilance Magistrate’s Court before Magistrate Fabayo Azore, where the charge was laid. He pleaded not guilty and was later granted bail in the sum of $50,000. The case was adjourned to 2024-12-23.
