As the Guyana Chess Federation (GCF) continues to roll out its school chess manoeuvres, overseas-based Guyanese Raymond Singh, a former 1980s GCF champion, has donated 2,000 chess sets to Guyana to use in the school system. A number of those sets were distributed to Comenius Primary School recently.
Meanwhile, the 2023 National Chess Championship is continuing. At the end of the first two rounds Loris Nathoo and Justino Da Silva were in the lead with perfect scores.
