Dear Editor,
It is with deep sadness that I learnt of the death of Ambassador Rudy Insanally, a revered colleague and friend. On behalf of the members of the Council and the entire University of Guyana Community, I extend condolences to his family on their profound loss. He will be remembered for the invaluable contribution to the University of Guyana during his tenure as Chancellor 1994 -2001 on which the University could build and celebrate its 60th anniversary of achievements this year, during his lifetime. His distinguished career as Guyana’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Diplomat and Statesman is universally recognized and has left an inedible mark on the regional and international theaters in which he bestrode as a colossus by the power of his intellect, the finesse of negotiating skills and mastery of the craft of diplomacy. We will truly miss his presence, calm demeanor and extraordinary humility while being assured that his legacy remains undiminished.
