The skeletal remains of a Berbice woman are believed to have been found some six months after she last made contact with her family.

The suspected remains of Yogenie Nankishore, 49, also called ‘Sunita’, were found at about noon on November 29, at her home on West Public Road, Number 63 Village, Corentyne, Berbice.

Nankishore was reportedly missing for a period of five to six months despite visits and phone calls by relatives and friends.

The matter was reported to the police and when ranks visited the home, they discovered the remains on a bed in the front bedroom of the house. No foul play was suspected since the home was well secured from the inside

The remains were transported to the Skeldon Public Hospital and examined by a doctor who stated that the person had died about five to six months ago.

The remains of Nankishore were later taken to Bailey’s Funeral Home.
