Jermaine Grant gets `Best Cop’ award for Region Three

Jermaine Grant has been named the `Best Cop’ for West Demerara/Essequibo Islands.

A release from the police yesterday said that several ranks stationed within Regional Police Division #3 were rewarded on Wednesday for their work on crime and traffic management.

The awards were handed out at the Region’s Annual Christmas Luncheon and Award Ceremony hosted at the Leonora Technical and Vocational Training Centre.

The release said that through his leadership, Assistant Superintendent Grant and ranks from the Region’s Criminal Investigation Department under his command have presided over a 22.4% decrease in crime as well as the removal of a number of firearms and quantity of narcotics off the streets throughout the Region.

Regional Traffic Officer, Assistant Superintendent Maniram Jagnanan was adjudged as the Runner Best Cop in the Region for 2023. Jagnanan has been instrumental in spearheading numerous traffic enforcement exercises in the Region with positive results, the release said.
