Butcher, cattle rearer charged with unlawful possession of carcass

Two West Coast Berbice men were this week charged with the unlawful possession of a carcass and placed on $30,000 bail.

Stabroek News was told that Imtiaz Khan also known as ‘Beef-Power’, 48, a butcher of Lot 4 Armadale, West Coast Berbice, and Biswajet Deochand also known as ‘Daro’, 51, a cattle farmer of Lot 183 Waterloo, West Coast Berbice, were arrested on Monday with the carcass.

On Thursday the men appeared at the Fort Wellington Magistrate’s Court before Magistrate Peter Hugh where they were charged with the unlawful possession of a carcass.

Both men pleaded not guilty to the offence and were placed on $30,000 bail each.  They will return to court on December, 21, for report.
