Wilson, 45, a father of three of Pepper Street, Heathburn Village  was stabbed multiple times just before midnight on November 24th at his snackette on the East Bank Berbice main access road.

His partner, Roshana Hope, had told Stabroek News that she was asleep when she received a call from Wilson who was out selling at his snackette.

“That was four minutes after eleven in the night and when me answer he say Roshana come at the hospital a get stab and the phone cut out”, she said.

Hope said she rushed to the snackette where she was told that Wilson had been stabbed multiple times. “The people that went here tell me that the Mortimer and he (Wilson) had some bet about a guy who use to work with him and he won the bet.”

She said, the bet was for $5,000 and after winning Wilson took the money and placed it into the box where he had all of his money including his sales for the day. “Mortimer took the whole box with the money and he walk away with it and my child father get annoyed and give him two tap on his shoulder and he turn around and he stab” him, she related.

According to the woman, persons who were present at the snackette told her that they thought the suspect was “cuffing” Wilson. However, it wasn’t until the man screamed that he was being stabbed that the persons intervened and rushed him to the New Amsterdam Public Hospital.

“He (Wilson) say this boy just stab me like two times and then them hear”, she relayed.

Hope said her partner was stabbed on both of his hands, abdomen and buttocks. However, she said the stab injury on the abdomen was the worst because “it damage five different arteries from inside.”
