Carmel defeat holders DC Caesar Fox in KFC Goodwill Football

Carmel Secondary defeated defending champion DC Caesar Fox 2-1 when the KFC Goodwill Series commenced on Tuesday evening at the Ministry of Education (MOE) ground, Carifesta Avenue.

In what was the second meeting of the teams in recent memory, Carmel maintained their undefeated streak against the Region #7 outfit, following a timely double from Ian Daniels.

The wily forward opened the scoring in the 16th minute before doubling his tally and his side’s lead via a 43rd-minute conversion. DC Caesar Fox would reduce the deficit in the 45th minute, as Anthonio Isaacs found the back of the net. However, the Smyth Street outfit remained resolute in the rearguard to secure the vital result.

The event continues today at the same venue with another round of matches. Chase Academy will oppose Bartica at 13:30hrs, while Carmel will face off against VM04 at 15:30hrs at the Queen’s College grounds. Over at the MOE grounds, Clarendon College will battle St. Ignatius at 18:00hrs, while St. Benedict will engage DC Caesar Fox at 20:00hrs.
