Forty-year-old Samuel Duncan of Lot 23 D’Urban Backlands yesterday appeared before Magistrate Rhondel Weever at the Georgetown Magistrate’s Court where he charged with assault of a minor causing grievous bodily harm on December 4 2023.
Duncan pleaded not guilty to the charge.
The prosecution did not object to bail, requested that the amount be substantial and that Duncan be placed on a bond to keep the peace since both he and the complainant live in the same area.
As such, bail was granted in the sum of $60,000 and Duncan was bonded to keep the peace. The conditions of bail stipulated that he refrain from making any contact with the complainant failing which, he will be kept in custody until the end of his trial.
The matter was adjourned to January 26, 2024.
