𝗕𝘂𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗺𝗮𝗻 𝗱𝗶𝗲𝘀 𝗶𝗻 𝗖𝗼𝗿𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘆𝗻𝗲 accident

Police are investigating a fatal accident which occurred at about 08:10 hrs this morning on the  Jackson Creek public road, in Corentyne, Berbice, which resulted in the death of Sahid Hamid, a 38-year-old businessman.

Hamid, who is from Rose Hall Town, was at the time ‘test driving’ a pick-up vehicle (PKK 915), owned by Wazir Deochand of Crabwood Creek Corentyne which he wanted to buy.

Initial investigations reveal that the pickup was proceeding south along the eastern side of the Jackson Creek road, allegedly at a fast rate, when the driver lost control and ended up in a trench on the western side of the road.

The driver was taken to Skeldon Public Hospital in an unconscious condition by Police and public-spirited citizens, where he was pronounced dead by a doctor on duty.

Investigations continue.
