DC Ballers, Minerals, and Platinum were among the teams to seal elimination berths when the group stage in the ‘One Guyana’ Beach Football Championship concluded on Saturday evening at the PPP office in Mackenzie, Linden.
The DC Ballers schooled the Pro Ballers 4-1. Nicholas Gentle recorded a hat-trick in the sixth, 12th, and 14th minutes, while Jayshawn Moore found the back of the net in the 23rd minute. On target in the loss was Quacy Cadogan in the second minute.
On the other hand, the Minerals overcame the Gorillas 1-0. Delon Charter recorded the only conversion in the 22nd minute. Meanwhile, Platinum brushed aside Fearless 3-0. The trio of Kemar McLaren, Keron Solomon, and Isaiah Adams etched their names on the scorer’s sheet in the fourth, 13th, and 17th minutes, respectively.
In another result, the UDK Victors squeaked past Day One 1-0. Jamal White netted in the 22nd minute. Also, Hururu and Presidential played to a 2-2 stalemate. Runie Velloza and Tyreil Lewis scored for Presidential in the third and 18th minutes apiece, while Shemar Gomes and Delon France netted for Hururu in the 12th and 20th minutes, respectively.
The event continues on Wednesday at the same venue. The other playing nights are December 22nd, 26th, and 29th, with the final slated for January 6th, 2024.
