Twenty-two-year old Chad Shivrattan appeared before Magistrate Leron Daly on Friday at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court where he was charged with larceny.
It was alleged that on November 12, at Regent Street, Lacytown, George-town, he robbed Elaine Norton of one Samsung A71 cellphone valued $89,000.
Shivrattan plead not guilty to the charge and told the court that he was wrongfully accused of the crime.
The prosecutor made no objections to bail being granted since the police investigation into the matter is incomplete.
As such the magistrate granted bail to Shivrattan in the sum of $50,000 and the matter was adjourned to February 2, 2024.
