Sophia man pleads guilty to trafficking ecstasy

A Sophia man yesterday pleaded guilty to trafficking ecstasy.

Joshua Mentore appeared before Chief Magistrate Sherdel Isaacs-Marcus at the Georgetown Magistrate’s Court charged with the offence of trafficking in narcotics to wit 34 grams of ecstasy.

A release from the Customs Anti-Narcotic Unit (CANU) said that Mentore pleaded guilty and a probation report was ordered and sentencing deferred. The matter was adjourned to the 18th January, 2024.

The release said that Mentore was arrested on 20th December 2023, at Dennis Street ‘C’ Field Sophia after CANU Officers discovered approximately 34 grammes of ecstasy in his possession.
