Sookraj and Sons General Store in New Amsterdam was broken into during the wee hours of Tuesday and over $400,000 in items were stolen.
According to the police, the incident happened at the business place of R. Sookraj and Sons General Store located at Lot 10 Main and Church streets, New Amsterdam.
Yesterday morning it was observed that the office had been ransacked and an undisclosed amount of items including cigarettes, Digicel credit and electronic items valued at over $400,000 were missing.
The police have launched an investigation and are actively searching for the suspect who was caught on the CCTV cameras.
