`Substantial progress’ being made on Diamond Hospital – Anthony

Minister of Health,  Dr Frank Anthony yesterday made a visit to the new Diamond Hospital construction site.

During a brief interview, Anthony said that substantial progress has been made in the construction of the new hospital which is expected to be completed by the end of this year.

This hospital, the  Minister said will consist of a modern Accident and Emergency Unit and a Laboratory that will be operational on a 24-hour basis, a release from the Ministry of Health said.

“The facility will also contain two operating theatres, several outpatient clinics and 75 patient beds”, Anthony said.

In addition, he also disclosed that the hospital will be fully equipped with CT Scans for imaging.

Also in attendance were, Dr Ravindra Dudnauth, Deputy Director of Regional Health Services; Dr Taishan Shanks, Medical Superintendent attached to the Diamond Diagnostic Centre and Sushma Adams, Regional Pharmacist.
