(Trinidad Express) Gunmen opened fire on a car in Woodbrook, Port of Spain shortly after midnight yesterday.
The target was the driver of the Hyundai Elantra. Bullets were fired though the rolled up windows, and through the front windscreen.
The driver, 30-year-old Tyrone Best, of St Barb’s, was wounded but able to escape the vehicle.
The shooting is believed connected to the ongoing gang warfare.
His passenger, a 19-year-old identified as Teneisha Jackie, was shot multiple times in the front passenger seat.
Arriving police officers did not wait for an ambulance.
They took her away in the back of a police SUV. Jackie, of Curepe, died at hospital.
