Shaquiel Thomas and Otto McDonald appeared before Magistrate Delon Bess at the Georgetown Magistrate’s Court where they were charged with robbery.

It is alleged that they robbed George Grant, a senior citizen, of his pension book, one ZTE phone valued $35,000, $43,000 cash, and one pair of Samsung ear buds valued $5,000.

Both Thomas and McDonald plead not guilty to the charge.

However, before the prosecutor could object to bail, Grant told the magistrate that he wished to end the matter after swearing that he was not forced or coerced into his decision. He told both men that they should change and become active members of society, while explaining to them that they were young men with potential who could achieve more and as such he is sparing them to give them that chance.

Magistrate Bess agreed and told the young men that Grant had given them a second chance at life and to make good use of it.

Both men apologized and offered to shake Grant’s hand but he refused and told them that they just need to do better.

The matter was then dismissed.
