Sheriff Guyana launches construction company

Sheriff Guyana yesterday announced the establishment of Sheriff Construction Inc., marking a further expansion of its operations here.

A release from the company said that under the leadership of  Ameir Ahmad and father, Shareef Ahmad it is poised to make an impact on Guyana’s construction industry. Sheriff Construction Inc. has already procured 50 dump trucks, with an additional 50 trucks expected to arrive by the end of 2024. 

The release said that the company has also purchased four excavators and two cranes to support its operations.

“This substantial investment demonstrates the company’s commitment to becoming a major player in the construction sector. Civil construction is the primary focus of Sheriff Construction Inc., and the company boasts a team of highly skilled engineers and experts with extensive experience in the field”, the release said.

The company says it is prepared to take on a wide range of construction projects,from commercial buildings to infrastructure development. 

“One of our key objectives is to ensure that this company becomes synonymous with excellence and reliability in the construction industry,” said Managing Director, Ameir Ahmad.

“We are in the process of securing Local Content Certification and all other necessary certifications to align with international standards.” 

Although officially incorporated in April 2023, the release said that the team behind the company has successfully completed several projects over the past five years. Some of the notable projects include the construction of the Sheriff General Hospital in Leonora, 25 luxury homes, and its very own three-story office building on Da Silva Street. The team is currently constructing the Sheriff Mall in Palmyra and two condominiums in Richmondville Housing Scheme.
