LUCAS STOCK INDEX (LSI)

The third trading period in January 2024 has seen the Lucas Stock Index decline 0.617 percent on the sale of 101,159 shares.  Eight stocks were traded this week among which were three Climbers, two Tumblers and three remaining constant. The Tumblers lost G$20B in value while the Climbers gained G$15B which caused the value of the index to fall by G$5B this week.   

The stock price of Republic Bank Limited (RBL) rose 9.778 percent on the sale of 3,222 shares while that of Demerara Tobacco Company (DTC) rose 4.0 percent on the sale of 87 shares.  In addition, the stock price of Guyana Bank for Trade and Industry (BTI) rose 0.061 percent on the sale of 75 shares.

In contrast, the stock price of Banks DIH (DIH) fell 11.111 percent on the sale of 9,464 shares while that of Sterling Products Limited (SPL) fell 0.014 percent on the sale of 365 shares.

In the meanwhile, the stock prices of Caribbean Container Inc, Demerara Bank Limited (DBL), and Demerara Distillers Limited (DDL) remained unchanged on the sale of 1,098; 63,848 and 23,000 shares respectively.
