LUCAS STOCK INDEX (LSI)

The Lucas Stock Index grew 1.567 percent on the sale of 147,917 shares during the final period of trading in March 2024.  Seven stocks were traded this week and the activities produced three Climbers and three Tumblers. The Climbers outperformed the Tumblers, resulting in the index gaining over G$12B in value.   

The stock price of Republic Bank Limited (RBL) increased 15.093 percent on the sale of 4,851 shares while that of Sterling Products Limited (SPL) increased 11.421 percent on the sale of 50 shares.  In addition, the stock price of Demerara Tobacco Company (DTC) rose 0.039 percent on the sale of 866 shares.

In contrast, the stock price of Banks DIH (DIH) fell 2.857 percent on the sale of 117,861 shares while that of Demerara Distillers Limited (DDL) fell 1.923 percent on the sale of 16,047 shares.  In addition, the stock price of Guyana Bank for Trade and Industry (BTI) declined 1.235 percent on the sale of 472 shares.

In the meanwhile, the stock price of Demerara Bank Limited (DBL) remained unchanged on the sale of 7,770 shares.
